This month’s special guest is Amy Madison, Executive Director of the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC). Amy has served the organization since January 2014. During the past six years, she successfully recruited or assisted in expanding 42 projects bringing over 2.6 million square feet of expansion and providing for 2254 new fulltime jobs. These projects added an estimated $262 MM to the local tax base for Pflugerville, one of the fastest-growth cities in the U.S. In 2019, the PCDC was designated as one of 65 Accredited Economic Development Organizations (AEDO) by the International Economic Development Corporation.
Beyond recruitment, Amy oversees expansion projects, land sales, infrastructure projects and leases in the 130 Commerce Center, a 167-acre industrial park being developed by the PCDC. She assisted in recruiting Typhoon Texas to operate the PCDC’s 24-acre water park in May 2017 and oversees the operating lease.
Previously, Amy served six years as CEO of the Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP), a two-county regional organization that she help create through an economic development strategic plan, and prior to that, served seven years as economic development director for the City of Schertz where she helped garner a 50-year supply of water and established a new industrial park.
Amy received a bachelor’s degree from Phillips University and completed a master’s degree at the University of Oklahoma. She is an OU Economic Development Institute graduate, a Certified Economic Development Professional (CEcD), a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP), a Certified Public Manager (CPM) and an Economic Development Master Practitioner (EDMP). She currently serves as a board member for the International Economic Development Council, the Texas Economic Development Council, and the Capital Area Council of Governments Economic Development District Board. She is a member of the International Asset Management Council, TeamTexas, Texas One, Opportunity Austin, CleanTX.
